Review of Cresey Throw Streamers
By Paul Riego
Now here is an amazing effect, you rip up some paper, make a magical pass and all of a sudden, a stream of paper jumps out into the audience always creating excitement! Here's the problem, there's not a lot out there that you can actually use and make it look really good. Take David Cresey's Throw Streamers for example, the first time I worked with them I only got to use one because while going through my case, the streamer coils fell out of it's really cheap scotch tape wrapper. Do not buy this if you work with throw streamers because it's a real hassle just to try to carry them around and use every single one successfully.
Since using Cresey's streamers, I pretty much gave up on using them until I found a good quality and EASY to use throw streamer. They are called "Kabuki Streamers" and they are made here in the US. Don't worry these are affordable unlike the ones that Jeff McBride uses that'll cost you a couple of hundred dollars for a dozen. These in my opinion are just as good as those Japanese streamer makers. I believe there is only one magic shop in NYC that carries them and the shop is called Rogue Production Magic and Funshop. Have fun using this really cool in between effect.
