Interview with Kevin Parker on May 21st, 2007...
David: What drew you to magic?
I decided I liked magic when I saw sponge bunnies multiplying out of somebody's hand.
David: What was your first trick?
Maybe letting a spectator hold a coin in a handerchief which is draped over a glass of water and having him drop the coin into the glass and after hearing it hit the glass, the spectator removes the handkerchief and no coin is in there..
David: When did you discover a talent for creating magic tricks?
I discovered it after I created Revolution, my coin vanish.
David: Everybody has a favorite piece of work they've done, which are you most proud of?
It's a toss up between Revolution and Passing Thru.
David: What is your goal in the magic world? What do you hope to accomplish?
My goal is just to invent and perform new magic and maybe get something on tv one day, like me vanishing a cloud (yes I can do it).
David: Do you only create close-up illusions, or do you do things that would work on stage?
I create both, illusions for close up and for stage.
David: Do you have anything planned that's coming up? Any new illusions we can expect to see in the near future?
Not right now, but haven't quit trying to come up with new llusions.
David: Do you have any suggestion for people interested in trying a Kevin Parker illusion (like the ones available on this site)?
You can always start out with my coin thru bottle, Passing Thru. It may be the easiest.
David: Where do you usually perform your effects? Where might someone expect to see you?
I only perform when I'm asked by aquaintances, or when I want to make a performance video.
David: Any closing thoughts you'd like to share?
